Chiropractic Adjustment

(Spinal Manipulation)

A chiropractor uses a precise impulse in a specific direction to restore normal motion and position of the individual vertebrae. This is the primary method of treatment administered to help relieve pain and maintain a healthy balance between the spine and the nervous system.

Dr. Mulcahey sees patients from infants to elderly for a variety of conditions. Chiropractic is a natural approach to healing by using non-invasive, non-surgical methods to treat the whole person.

Techniques

Dr. Mulcahey uses a variety of techniques based on the individual needs of her patients including Diversified, Thompson, Activator, SOT and extremity adjusting.

She has additional training in using the Blair technique, which is a very specific upper cervical (neck) adjustment for people with headaches.

How it works

Chiropractors use the term “subluxations” to describe a vertebra that has misaligned in the relation to the one located above or below it. It can be caused by any number of factors that can be physical, emotional, mental or chemical. The subluxation can be caused by any number of incidents, from birth trauma to an auto accident to simple repetition or over-use.

The chiropractor can correct the misaligned bone and allow it to return to its proper position. The adjustment enables the body to heal.

Are you experiencing pain, fatigue, headaches, decreased range of motion, tension in muscles and joints, or numbness and tingling into the arms and legs? These are just a few of the reasons you may want to see Dr. Mulcahey for a chiropractic adjustment.
