Your First Visit
What to expect on your first visit to Dr. Mulcahey’s office
We make every effort to make your first visit to our office a very comfortable experience. Our friendly staff and the doctor will answer any questions and concerns you may have.
We recommend that on your first appointment, you arrive fifteen minutes early to complete the required paperwork. A complete health history is the first step for any new chiropractic patient. We will ask you about your old injuries, chronic problems, and your current symptoms. What are your sensitive or painful areas? When did the pain start? What caused the pain? In addition, Dr. Mulcahey might inquire about your family history, medications that you are taking, job or work habits, and previous treatment that you have had for your current condition (chiropractic, osteopathic, medical etc.) If you have taken x-rays with a previous doctor, you may want to bring them with you on your first visit.
After reviewing the health history, the doctor will perform a chiropractic examination, and if it is clinically necessary, order x-rays.
If the doctor feels that chiropractic care will help your condition, you will then get a chiropractic adjustment. Treatments will be tailored to your specific needs – addressing your specific health problems and personal concerns. Dr. Mulcahey is very considerate about telling you what to expect as you begin your care, so feel free at any time to ask her questions!
On your second visit to our office, you will sit down with Dr. Mulcahey for a “Report of Findings.” This is your time to hear about how chiropractic works, how much it will cost, and you will decide together how you want to proceed with your treatment plan. This visit takes about twenty to thirty minutes. Your visits thereafter are much quicker. We realize that your time is valuable, so we try to keep your wait time to a minimum!
You are welcome to download the New Patient Information form and complete it before your first visit. If not, you may complete all of your paperwork when you arrive at our office.
We are looking forward to having you as part of our chiropractic family!
